Hawthorn House

This double storey brick home, in a lovely garden setting, required a reconfiguration of the existing spaces to make it functional and more suited to the family’s lifestyle. The existing spaces were opened up to create a connected ground floor containing a secondary access point including mudroom, bathroom and laundry. A large open plan living, dining and kitchen area offers spectacular views to the city and opens out to a deck and the garden. The south facing orientation of the project is addressed by creating a glazed lightwell at each end of the connecting passage which floods the area with natural light.
