Fire Station

Behind the Fire Station lies a courtyard garden surrounded by townhouses designed by Cedric Ballantyne in 1911. These townhouses have undergone many changes over the years and working on one of these homes provided moments of intrigue and delight.

The renovation of the interior provided an opportunity to restore original elements such as the timber flooring, hidden for years under slate tiles, and reveal elements of the past such as the terrazzo hearth and timber herringbone bracing.

A new addition on the roof terrace provides an enclosed flexible space for the family to enjoy the northern aspect and extended views beyond the Fire Station enclosure.
